A Brief History of Windsor Gardens Church

Windsor Gardens Church actually traces its beginning back to two churches.  In 1967, God gave a vision of starting a new church to a number of people from Galilee Baptist Church who were residents of Windsor Gardens.  They requested and received permission from Windsor Gardens to meet for worship on Sunday mornings at 9:00 in the auditorium.  They were known as the Windsor Gardens Chapel, and their first worship service was held in January, 1968.

Prior to this, another congregation met at 11:00.  They were known as Windsor Gardens Community Church, but were characterized by “Science of the Mind.”  Through the years and a change of leadership, they gradually became a more biblical church.

Some years later, members of both congregations sensed the time was right for them to merge into one congregation.  This was approved by both congregations, and so Windsor Gardens Church had its official beginning in 1991.  The church has continued as a Christ-centered, biblical church that emphasizes the traditional teachings and doctrines of the Christian faith, while making missions a central ministry of the church.
